About TableGale

TableGale is a set of free browser tools for tables: paste a table from ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini — or cells from a spreadsheet — and get it as Excel columns, a Word table, a CSV or XLSX file, or a Markdown table for a prompt. Everything runs on your device; nothing is uploaded. Each tool page names the documentation its facts come from and the date they were last checked. The first tool is the ChatGPT table to Excel converter.

Where the facts come from

Each tool page shows, just before its FAQ, a line that starts "Facts checked on …" and links the pages the statements were taken from: the GitHub Flavored Markdown specification for how a table is written, Microsoft's support pages for what Excel accepts (file formats, limits, the Text to Columns wizard) and Google's help pages for Google Sheets. A figure that cannot be traced to such a page is not published: limits, menu paths and format rules on this site are quoted from the publisher's documentation. Blog posts and forum answers are used only as hints about where to look.

How and when the facts are re-checked

The date on each page is the day its sources were actually re-read, not a publication date. Menu paths and limits change with software versions, so a page is re-checked when it is edited or when a reader reports a difference. If a page shows a checked date older than a few months, treat it as a starting point and confirm the detail on the linked documentation before relying on it.

What the tools do and do not do

• They read Markdown tables and tab- or comma-separated text, clean bold, links and code marks out of cells, recognise plain numbers, percentages and ISO dates, and put the result on your clipboard or into a CSV or XLSX file — all with JavaScript in your browser.
• They do not use any AI model, do not fetch anything from the chat services, and do not check whether the numbers in a table are correct. They also do not write formulas, styles or macros into the XLSX.
• They are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, GitHub or Microsoft. Using them is free, with no account, watermark or limit on the number of tables.

Privacy

The text is read and converted by JavaScript in your browser and the result is copied or saved straight to your device. No server receives it, no account is needed, and the pages set no cookies and load nothing from third-party servers. Report a problem or a wrong fact

If a table converts wrongly, or a statement on a page does not match its source, send an email to the address on the contact page with the page address and a small example — not a table with personal data. Confirmed problems are corrected on the page, in its structured data and in the site's llms.txt, and the checked date is moved forward.
